It occurred to me while reading this, though, that being depressed might be the contributing factor, rather than the use of anti-depressive drugs, as the study didn't compare the miscarriage rate in women who were depressed but not taking anti-depressants with those who were on the drugs. However, a quick search came up with this study http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/13678512 which suggests that depression is not a factor in spontaneous abortion. So anti-depressants may well be the significant factor. Worrying, as quite a few women I know who are having difficulty in conceiving are taking these drugs. thanks, very interesting information.
