Ugly Side of The Beauty Industry
Have you ever thought that trying to look pretty may cause some ugly health problems?
Many of us use multiple beauty products every day. Many of us also assume that the products that we use are safe. The fact is, there are absolutely no laws that require cosmetic companies to disclose or test the ingredients that they put in their products. Lead has been detected in lipsticks (yes, even in the expensive ones!), known carcinogens have been detected in face and body lotions, shampoos including children’s products. FDA is not doing anything to protect the consumers nor do they do recalls for unsafe products.
What can you do?
Be careful about your choices. Don’t fall for strong marketing campaigns and ads that the beauty industry bombards us with every day. You can be beautiful without spending lots of money. Beauty comes from within and beautiful people are healthy and happy people. Eat a good diet without processed foods. Eat fresh vegetables and fruits. Work on your mind.
I also strongly encourage you to check out the web site: www.consmeticsdatabase.com where you can find evaluation of over 30,000 beauty products. You might be shocked to find out what you are putting on your skin everyday. And, don’t forget that our skin is the largest organ that absorbs everything that we put on it!
Switch to natural products that you most likely have in your kitchens. If it is safe enough to eat, it is safe to put on your skin. I personally love to use coconut oil as a body lotion. It absorbs right away and smells wonderful! Small amounts of jojoba oil can be used on your face or to soften your hair…
Be smart and be safe. We still don’t know what are the long term effects of constant exposure to these toxic chemicals. I personally believe that it is just not worth the risk!
Wish you lots of good health, love and happiness!
