We Welcome Our New Therapist
We are pleased to announce that Emily Soiney has joined our team as a physical therapist and a yoga instructor.
Emily grew up in McMinnville, Oregon in a family of health care professionals. After earning a BS in Exercise & Sport Science and a BA in International Studies with a Spanish minor from Oregon State University, she graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree. She is a board-certified physical therapy with expertise in rehabilitation for orthopedic, neurological conditions across the lifespan. Emily passed extensive examination to become a certified Craniosacral Therapist (CST-T) with the Upledger Institute. Additional continuing education includes all courses by the Postural Restoration Institute, as well as many courses by the North American Institute of Manual Therapy (NAIOMT) and Visceral Mobilization by the Barral Institute.
Incorporating yoga therapeutics -particularly breath and postural awareness- into all physical therapy sessions facilitates lasting healing. Emily has taught since 2004 as a registered yoga teacher (RYT) through the Yoga Alliance. Along with completing two 200-hour yoga teacher trainings she was also completed a 9-month internship at Amrita Yoga Sanctuary in Portland. Her teaching style weaves ancient and modern wisdom through breath awareness and anatomically-sound poses. With deep reverence to this 5000 year-old healing tradition, she teaches yoga to all ages and abilities. Emily is also a Reiki master which she blends with empathic and intuitive guidance into every session.
